Indeed, the most important period of battle is the day after winning the battle not the victory day.
Recently, I went to the market to buy fish but when told the price, got gripped by shock. I mean literally shocked, I had to leave the fishmonger to digest the price and think properly. At that point, I realized how so many other people go to the market daily but are unable to buy their items of choice just because of the persistent price hike without a commensurate increase in value.
The first few days of the year are usually spent in plenty; our homes, filled with gifts from friends and family and goodies we bought to reward ourselves for the work done the previous year. As the year continues these goodies begin to finish and “reality” begins to set in.
We have fasted and trusted God at the beginning of the year, but now is the time for the real battle, the battle of the mind, the battle of faith. As we return to work, school, business and the marketplace in general, certain realities hit us daily and our minds racing on how to overcome. My friends this is the real battle, the battle against our faith. I like how the New Living Translation (NLT) puts it: “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives assurance about the things we cannot see” Hebrews 11:1. There is a constant need for us to be continually confident and hopeful that we are going to experience the ALL SUFFICIENCY of Christ. Do not waver in your confession. Don’t pull down the house you diligently built with your actions and inactions. We need to keep hope alive because it never disappoints.
Will there be trying periods? Yes. Will it look like you have come to your end? Yes. Will everything be rosy? No. Are you going to face seemingly impossible situations? Yes. Are you going to feel hopeless? Yes. However, when you are in these down moments, celebrate! I say again, celebrate! This uproar of feelings just indicates that there is a treasure inside you, a special seed that the devil wants to kill, don’t give him the pleasure. Consequently, during these times, thou shall not forget who you are in the mirror. You are more than a conqueror, a victory, a champion, the seed of Abraham…the list is endless. God believes so much in you and He wouldn’t test you beyond your capacity.
You can handle it! Stretch yourself!
Also, do not compromise the promises of God and don’t try to tweak it, “…if anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of this book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the Book of Life, the holy city, and from the things which are written in it” Revelations 22:18-19 (NKJV)
In addition be a doer of the word, enough with saying amen to declarations and pasting stickers around. Challenge yourself, practise the words received. Obey them! Saying amen to declarations won’t cut it, fulfilling the instructions inherent will.
It must also be pointed out that ALL SUFFICIENCY isn’t all about you and possession acquisition. It’s about putting your focus on God at all times for all things. The spiritual begets the physical. It’s about doing the right things so that your family, generation and lineage to come can be partakers of the blessings and above all for all to see the greatness in your life and give GLORY to God.
So Act Right! Think right! Live right! Give right!
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you.
